Anna Søgaard and Kim McBride founded suppher in 2019, they met whilst working together at Erst in Ancoats, Manchester.
Anna runs her own pop-up Jomfru (formerly, Head Shef at Bistro Freddie and Sous Chef at Erst) and Kim (former sommelier at Erst and The Creameries) has left hospitality to work in the Social Housing sector. They are both feminists and wanted to use their skills to raise money for charities supporting women.
In 2023 Suppher became a Community Interest Company and two new Directors were onboarded: Anna Carmichael (Growing Fields) and Sinead Murdoch (Tasca London).
Suppher creates a space for women in hospitality, where they can get to know each other by working together on something special.
Suppher events are safe and inclusive, they are a place where women’s talents are showcased and important women’s issues are discussed.
Suppher have collaborated with women from; Erst, The Creameries, Where The Light Gets, Flawd, Bread Flower, Kampus, Crispin, Maene, Wood and many more.
Suppher have donated to; Trafford Rape Crisis, Manchester Action on Street Health, Women for Women International, Host Nation UK, Manchester Women’s Aid & Salford Survivor Project and more.
Profits from suppher events are donated to charities chosen by volunteers at each event.
